Some Background on Reiki:
The Lamas of Tibet held the sacred documents of the Reiki System.
The Traditional Reiki story begins in the 1800s, but Reiki was ancient even then.  Dr. Mikao Usuri, the Principal of a Christian seminary in Kyoto, Japan, rediscovered Reiki in the 1800s.  There are varieties of his history.  Feel free to research further to read the fascinating story of Dr. Usuri’s search and finding of his developed knowledge of Reiki healing. 

Reiki is a part of every one of us.  It was once universal and was never meant to be lost. History denotes children of early Earth, in the civilization we call Mu today, received Reiki I training at the beginning of grade school.  They received Reiki II at what we define as junior high or middle school age, Reiki III, the teacher/Master’s training, was required for educators and was available to any who wanted it. 

Today institutions like Harvard and Yale both offer Reiki as an elective under their Spiritual Healing courses.  It is the hope that Spiritual Healing will be incorporated as mandatory training for medical students in the near future.   Morehouse School of Medicine’s Alternative and Complementary Medicine Program was pioneered by Dr. Charles Finch, III and now Dr. Kofi Kondwani, facilitates this course to students as part of their Complimentary Medicine component

Three Degrees of Reiki:
Reiki Level I – the first degree attunes the student to the energy enabling them to channel Reiki through their body to do “hands on” healing work.  Reiki I healing sessions are primarily for self-healing. 

Reiki Level II – the second degree is an additional attunement and more information is provided.  One receives sacred symbols that are “Keys” to accessing Reiki in specific ways for specific work.  The Reiki II attunement measurably increases the amount of healing energy, and the attunement focuses upon the emotional and mental healing in the person who receives it.  It also adds the methods and tools for doing healing with someone not physically present-distant healing.

Reiki Level III – the third degree is a third attunement and this is the Master level.  Some schools of Reiki break this degree into two parts.  One is Master and the other is Master Teacher.  A Master is simply a teacher, one who has mastered a discipline.  No ego or ownership is otherwise involved in the term.  The Master Teacher is one who intends to teach Reiki and perform Attunements on others.  I am from the school, which attunes all Level Three students as Master Teachers.  One then has the option to facilitate or teach if they choose.  The important fact is, they leave the workshop with the necessary tools to continue to assist in “ tuning up” God’s children.

The Attunement 
A process, which ‘Tunes one in/Keys one in’.  It is a physical and energetic transmission from the teacher to the student.  The Attunement involves a spiritual level of energy and achieves spiritual healing in the person receiving it.  The energy is pure joy, oneness with life, and connection with the Source/God.

Reiki heals the planet and the practioner every time it is used.  One should never hesitate to use it and use it often.

The Seven Major Chakras:
The Reiki hand positions are primarily positioned over the charkas.  Those charkas are:

1.	The Root chakra, usually associated with the adrenal gland, located at the base of the spine.  Color – Red.
2.	The Sacral chakara, located a few inches below the solar plexus.  Color – Orange.
3.	The Solar Plexus chakra, the center of out physical being, located between the lower rows of ribs, above the navel area.  Color – Yellow.
4.	The Heart chakra, located behind the breastbone or sternum  associated with the thymus gland. Color – Green.
5.	Throat chakra is located at the base of the neck, and is associated with the thyroid and parathyroid glands.  Color – Blue.
6.	The Brow or Third Eye, located above and between the physical eyes, and associated with the pituitary gland. Color – Violet.
7.	The Crown chakra, located at the top of the head, slightly to the back of the highest part of the skull. Physically it is associated with the pineal gland. Color - Purple/White.

I affirm this information as enlightenment, and it may further assist you in a better understanding of how ‘you’ were birthed with nurturing abilities.  Reiki is another of God’s many avenues for us to connect with each of our ‘higher flowing gifts’.   Thank you.
